Behavioral Programs
One of the many services that makes Alegria Community Living unique is the fact that we have a Director of Behavioral Services as part of our staff. While some organizations use behavioral consultants, our Director of Behavioral Services works only with Alegria residents, getting to know each person by working closely with them and their families and caregivers.
Behavioral services with Alegria Community Living consist of an initial meeting with the Director of Behavioral Services and each individual, their family members, case manager, care giver, and whoever is closely involved in the individual’s life and care. We get to know many aspects of the individual’s personality, communication style, strengths, and coping skills in order to address behavioral challenges in depth.
The Director of Behavioral Services is available and present at each of the homes on a regular basis to address concerns and train staff on how to best serve the individual to incorporate positive behavior changes. We work ongoing as a team to teach and learn from one another.
