Alejandrina is from Los Angeles, California, and moved to the Bay Area when she was 8 years old. Her mother started a career as a CNA in her early 20s. That’s when she discovered her passion for helping others.
She attended Delta College for Business Management and started her career in 1998 as a Residential Counselor, working with young adults who are experiencing behavioral challenges, and also as a Rehab Counselor for adults with Co-Occurring Conditions. From there, she became very passionate about helping others. She has worked in the mental field for 15 years and with adults with disabilities for more than 19 years.
She has volunteered in Alameda County, San Joaquin County, and Stanislaus County with NAMI, Event (Mental Health, LGBTQ, Special Needs), while also feeding the homeless and advocating for those who need assistance.
She loves working in this field and seeing residents grow, surpass their goals (small or big), and teaching them that anything is possible. Their disability doesn’t define who they are.
She has worked for Alegria since Sept of 2024, and it has been a really great experience working with such talented leaders. It motivates her to be the best version of myself.
Her passions outside of work include kayaking, Marathons, writing music, and traveling! She loves to experience new places and different foods.
